On April 8th, 1952,  14 individuals got together and each contributed $1,000.00 to form the Plumbing Industry Program which is now called the Plumbing Contractors Association. It was voted on an decided that the Plumbing Industry Program would be incorporated and on June 16th, 1952, the Plumbing Industry Program was indeed incorporated. Below is a list of past president:

Objectives

1.   To gather and disseminate information among its members for the advancement of the Plumbing Industry and promotion of the public health;
2.  To foster and encourage the Improvement of the Plumbing Industry materials, and work;
3.  To encourage the enactment and enforcement of legislation affecting the Industry in a positive manner;
4.  To promote the education and stature of workers in the Plumbing Industry;
5.  To promote good will between Plumbing Contractors and other branches of the construction industry, and encourage the observance of the highest and ethical standards in all matters pertaining to the industry.
6.  To consider and deal with the problems of management of businesses in the industry, to secure cooperative action in advancing the common purposes of the membership, to foster equity in business usage’s, and to conduct itself with greatest economy and efficiency:
7.  To promote safety standards and practices in compliance with governmental agencies for the good of the public and the industry. 

Plumbing Contractors Association Code of Ethics 

PLUMBING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION MEMBERS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE THE ELITE OF THEIR LOCAL INDUSTRY AND, AS SUCH, AGREE TO HOLD TO THESE STANDARDS:

  • We know our trade is vital to the health of our community and govern our actions accordingly.
  • We perform our trade in a professional manner using competent, trained, licensed craftsmen.
  • We obey all laws and codes governing our trade; especially those federal, state county and municipal laws controlling construction, safety, energy and water conservation, fire protection and water purity.
  • We are properly certified, licensed and insured professionals.
  • We constantly keep abreast of all new developments in our trade via ongoing education.
  • We agree that success in our trade is within the rules of ethics and honesty.
  • We are guided by the principles of honesty and integrity.
  • We never forget that the plumber protects the health of the nation.
